Layla found herself the target of The Miz's affections when she first debuted on Smackdown in 2006. Layla, however, wasn't interested and, after humiliating him live on pay-per-view, found herself the target of his wrath. Miz even teamed up with Kristal Marshall to make his former crush's life hell, until they both wound up on ECW a few months later and wiped the slate clean.
Kristal, a former Diva Search contestant herself, did not take a shine to the latest winner when she showed up on Smackdown and the two had a feud for several weeks, until Layla was ultimately moved to ECW.
Despite having been quite close during most of their run in Extreme Exposé, when Kelly started to show affection for slovenly Balls Mahoney, Layla (along with Miz and Brooke) began to turn on Kelly, taunting and teasing her about this crush. They demanded that she choose her friends over Balls and when she refused, Layla began a long-running feud with her former friend.
